RULE OF THE GAME
This game is divided, as you can see, into two parts: one on the right and the other on the left. We are, therefore, 2 players, We first agree on the effect of knowing how many dried beans will make a penny.... Let's say 30. Each of the two players will then put 10 beans in the Pot, and will reserve the others for the current game. These 10 beans are the loan you make to Mrs. Humbert. But it's not over, you'll lend some more, be sure. It is therefore a question of losing or making up for it. We will make 3 small boxes of a few square centimeters; on one we will put the number: 1 on the other: 2 finally on the last: 3.
These boxes will be put in a cap; one will be drawn by lot each time we have to play. We can, if we want, instead of using the 3 cards, play heads or tails with 3 small coins.
This milk, we start to play. The first draws, I suppose, number 2; he places his token on the 2 on the left side; the second draws 1, He places himself on the 1 on the right side, etc., the game continues in this way until the end, each having his side of the game except 6 squares which are common to the two players but which they must leave as soon as as they can to regain their side.
