Rules of the game :
Cut out the pawns and bend them as shown in figure A at the bottom right of the game, so that the strength of each pawn is concealed from the opponent.
This game can be played by two partners. Each of them will arrange his 22 pawns as he pleases in the six rows of squares in front of him, then the one designated by fate will move a pawn of his choice. The opponent will do the same, and so on in turn, until the enemy pawns are face to face.
At this moment, the player whose turn it is to move a pawn will try to take that of his opponent who will be in the square opposite his; but, ignoring its value, it will capture it if this pawn is weaker or, on the contrary, will be captured by it if this pawn is stronger.
The winner will then place his pawn on the space previously occupied by the captured pawn.
The winner will be the one who takes all of his opponent's pawns. Here is the strength of the counters, in order: Corps, Division, Brigade, Regiment, Squadron, Battalion, Man. When two pawns of the same strength are present, the one whose turn it is will play a second time.
The pawns will move forwards, backwards, to the left or to the right, according to the players, but only from one square to another. It is very important that the pawns are bent well so that the opponents ignore the forces present.
