Odds and Evens Board Game

Odds and Evens Board Game

Rules of the game : This game is played with 2, 3, 4 or more. Each of the players plays in turn in an order determined by a prior drawing of lots; each player is represented in the game by a pawn, a token or a button of a different color or shape for each of them. Here is what the game consists of: starting from square 1, each player takes turns throwing the die, with a single die: each time the point scored by this die is an even number, 2, 4 or 6, the player then moves his pawn forward a number of squares equal to the point brought; if the point scored by the die is an odd number, 1 or 5, the player on the contrary moves his pawn back a number of squares equal to the point brought. As an exception, when the point brought in is 3, the player does not move their pawn back 3 squares: on the contrary, they move it forward, as if they had brought in an even number. When, during the course of the game, a player lands on a green square, he lets each of the other players take one more turn; when he lands on 21 (blue box), he stays there until another player comes to take his place; when it lands on a red space, it starts the whole game over. If a player lands on a square already occupied by a previous player, the latter will take the place occupied by the one who comes to disturb him. When a player lands on a tricolor square, he advances a number of squares equal to the number that led him to this point; if he reaches this tricolor square as a result of a backward movement caused by an odd number, he will retreat in the same way. The first player to reach square 35 wins the game, but to get there, he must bring a point which leads him exactly there, otherwise, as in the game of Goose, he will go back the number of points that he has too many and will hound like this until he lands right on 35.
